[Left at her home like any usual package is a rather brilliant fruit and pastry display in a basket, wrapping in decorated paper. It was delivered from a local confections shop and is quite extravagant. With it is a letter addressed to Sabriel. Inside it reads-]
Ms. Sabriel,
This is Nonah Ambassador Gamagori Ira wanting to thank you for the effort put into the cure that assisted those like Annie Leonhart not long ago. What occurred was an issue on an ImPort wide level and the responsibility or part of, you took on was extremely important and appreciated.
So thank you again.
Enclosed with this letter is a receipt for the gift basket as I was unsure of your dietary restrictions if there were any. Otherwise, please enjoy the gift basket and should we meet in person anytime in the future, allow me to shake your hand and thank you personally.
[A letter arrives the next day, handwritten on the nicest paper Sabriel could find.]
Ambassador Gamagori,
I am honored by your gratitude, and would be happy to meet you in person, in a time and place of your choosing. But my actions were simply my duty as a mage and ImPort. I had the ability to help, so it was my responsibility to do so.
Your gift is much appreciated though, and I'm sure I will enjoy it very much.
[ It's almost impatient, when he leaves the message. Congratulations, Sabriel, you're gonna get a chance. ]
This is Oswald Cobblepot, owner of the Iceberg Lounge. If you're still interested in performing, contact me by tomorrow. I may have found an opening for you.
[In Monday's mail for Sabriel, she'll find an envelope marked with April & Will in the upper corner, no return address. The markings from the post office all come from a small city in Puerto Rico, mentions of it being special delivery (so it gets there quickly and before they do, duh). Inside, is a pretty generic postcard and a something small and rectangular encased in soft tissue paper. The back of the postcard is topped by MARRIAGE IS HERE WISH YOU WERE WEATHER in Papyrus font, naturally. The rest of it is normal, Will's message short and sweet and written with a growing slant like he's been writing a lot and has developed a cramp, hasn't written by hand in a while, or, quite possibly, is either inebriated or in a rush.
Sabriel, Greetings from Ponce! We took a vacation over the weekend to make it official. Hopefully everything's going well on your end, too! - April & Will
In that little carefully constructed yet cheap case he'll find a picture from the wedding. For the more casual route they took with it, April's dress is still classy, something one would expect at a higher end cocktail party more than a wedding. Will's managed a dark suit that fits, shirt underneath a normal white. Nothing plaid or overly disastrous here, the tie is not in the shape of a fish, though it's arguably trying with the blue color. Seems they got married in some outdoorsy spot, the arch above them rooted in place, the plump, older woman officiating in just as casually nice clothing, both amused and pleased by the inclusion of Eduardo. The raccoon wears a bowtie and has perched himself above them, and this picture is Will reaching out to take the ring from a raccoon who looks like he's played the part of both father and ringbearer this round. It's clear who is going to get his face bitten off if he dares cross April, and it's clear that everyone knows it, now give him the fucking ring.
Someone is not paying attention to the Network. Sorry, Sabriel. But can he be blamed? Really? REALLY?]
There is interest in you ImPort Trainer Application. Upon your reply, you will be given further information should you show interest in taking a student at this time.
Have you got any idea who won those flats after that murder mystery game? I tried contacting that arsehole Edgeworth but he's refusing to tell me unless I let him meddle in this, which I've got NO desire to do.
[ When Sabriel comes outside her house, Magicman will be waiting with two colourful Spikeys, tails wagging with some eagerness, and one black and yellow virus that's significantly smaller, buzzing eagerly. ]
How much would it be for a glamour, a spell to make me able to taste sugar again, and a spell that will make it so when I eat sugar or chocolate, I won't get sick from it?
[ this phone is stupid. Texting is stupid. he knows it's a thing, but it shouldn't be a thing because the phone is stupid and he keeps hitting the wrong letters and it's not a normal Earth phone it's a weird different Earth phone, but he knows Clara texts so he's going to text even though it's stupid. ]
Clara?
[ he just wants to contact her to make sure this texting works, okay? It's not his fault that the Doctor's doing so on misfire day. ]
[ Kaneki will be delivering his presents between the 25th and the 26th. For Sabriel, he will be giving a flower necklace; or rather with a flower inside. ]
[ a tiny bit late, but Kaneki delivers. Honestly, he doesn't celebrate Christmas, but New Year is something he is much more fond of and he will be giving a present to all the people he has a relatively positive relationship with. So he will be dropping by to leave some Mochi Rice Cake. Enjoy! ]
I don't think the news could get any worse than it already has- what happened, and what do you need?
[Given their mutual ties to RISE, Sabriel suspects this has something to do with Peter Pan. There's a similar muted tension in her voice, but it's mixed with something else- a determination that whatever Pan intends, she'll foil it, if only to spite him.]
Everybody has problems with Mondays, right? Well. Sabriel's isn't quite as bad as could be, he hopes. She'll find herself the recipient of a small bouquet of purple and red wildflowers with a thank you note firmly embedded and easily spotted from the middle of them. Delivery will not sing any songs, none of that nonsense now, no thank you. Inside is a $20 gift card to a local bed and bath place because he knows better than to expect everyone here has to eat. But everyone has to live in a place with a bathroom so really how can he go wrong here? Towels and cloths wear out, it's practical goddamnit. After that falls out is a short note that looks like it wasn't written all at once. Because it wasn't. Because this is probably a little strange and he knows that much.
For your contribution to the community at large. The magic you've taught April has been very appreciated & you should be thanked more often. - Will Graham
If he mentions his wife in the midst of pretty flowers it's less strange, right? Right? Time will tell.]
[The next day, a note arrives, written with a fountain pen on thick paper. The writing is neat and flowing, and surprisingly old fashioned considering the writer is a teenager.
My thanks for the flowers, and the gift. I'm delighted to hear that the skills I've taught are being put to good use -Sabriel
PS. Why don't you two visit me in Nonah sometime- I'll treat you to dinner!
Unfortunately, this is going to be more complicated than Heropa- wherever they are, it's going to take far more resources and preparation to get them back than stopping Pan did.
Everyone and everything everywhere will die eventually, including you. That's like saying water is wet. [Her tone is curt, but she pauses before she says any more. As much as Lucifer unnerves her, his powers are nullified, and he's in a place they need to learn more about.]
But please tell me, are they making threats now, or are conditions just that bad?
