Believe me, I know Kaneki's on board, I understand hygiene, and while I don't doubt your ability and willingness to kill equally powerless, unarmed imPorts, I'm less certain of your ability to fight armed guards, or your willingness to deal with how they'd respond. Really? I'm impressed. What gave you your first clue? About the space thing, not the death wish thing. That's always been obvious, and you don't get a prize for it.

The thing about armed guards is that they'd actually have to fire. We're such prized commodities, I doubt they have the clearance.

I admit science isn't my specialty, but from what I understand, holding fifty people in space would take an awful lot of resources. Not to mention the shortage of salt water up there.

As for resources, I would suggest that they've already taken more people than they expected to. They're stalling for something--diplomacy or retaliation, who knows.

Historically, Russia makes a lot of noise and grand gestures, whether they have the clout to back it up or not. I don't have much interest in artificial intelligence, beyond marveling at humanity's arrogance. Life is biological, it's innate, and full of a kind of spirit that no machine will ever have. But no, I wouldn't say immune. There's potential. It says it wants nothing, but I believe it wants to learn. Offer it the world, I say. Offer it Lachesis.

And Lachesis isn't in the Porter anymore. Hasn't been for a while, I'm afraid- she only lingered long enough to make a few alterations. But if they want to gain control of imPorts- and deny America access to them, destroying or capturing the Porter would make sense. [Privately, Sabriel thinks of the AI imPorts she's met, and decides Lucifer is full of it. Magicman is definitely alive.]

We can't give it that, but we can give it conversation, stimulation... and fifty viewpoints that differ drastically from its creators.

Is the universal idea that we can talk our way out of this prevalent among all of you on the outside? I rather prefer the more aggressive stance, personally.

No- a rescue attempt is being planned, but right now we don't have any idea where you are- and any failed attempt will make the next one much harder.
