1) If your character is undead, a ghost/spirit, or some kind of magical creature/elemental- particularly if the magic is dark, chaotic or necromantic would you be okay with Sabriel being able to sense them? She also seems to be able to sense when people are using magic.

2) Are you all right with Sabriel using her bells on your character?

3) If a log takes place in the Old Kingdom, are you all right with Sabriel using Charter Magic on your character?

Since I'm online & noticed this post. :D

1) That's fine. Other beings can sense/see Ruby for who/what she is in her verse (ex. angels can see her true face through the visage of the body she's occupying), so that's so not a problem.

2) As long as there's no permanent damage, that's fine. I'd also prefer she not be exorcised from her body although it's a technical weakness/possibility. It's just no fun being a cloud of smoke is all. :C

3) I doubt Ruby will ever go there seeing as how she's basically allergic to Sabriel in general, but on the off-chance that she does, about the same as #2. ;)

1) M-21 is sort-of a werewolf. Whether this actually involves magic or not is something canon has yet to show (yay for weird canons), but I'm fine with her sensing something generally off about him!

We already (briefly) discussed things, but I thought I'd fill this out anyway!

1.) Yes, yes, yes! Luke is a hybrid of human and arrancar. He describes himself as being "half dead," but that's really not the case; more that because of DNA tampering, he has a hollow parked right next to his human soul, which is following its instinct and attempting to consume him. This manifests itself physically as a literal void growing in his chest, though it is currently subdued with machinery made of spirit absorbing seki-seki rock.

2.) Yes. Depending on what it is, it will probably piss him off. XD

3.) Yes!

1.) DEEP DEEP DEEP in Shou's soul are the remains of a terrible monster. If he's ever in great danger or they associate closely for a long time, I am a-okay with her sensing the Hollow part of him.

2) Yeah, that's probably the only time Sabriel would ever use them on him. Canon review seems to indicate that the bells can work on the living, it's just something normal necromancers do and and abhorsens don't.

1) He's an angel, so his magic isn't exactly dark. If you still think she'd be able to tell something's up with him, I'm all for it.

2) You can try, but they may not work. As an archangel that moonlights as a pagan god, he's pretty willful.

3) Once again, feel free to try! I don't think Sabriel would be powerful to do a lot of damage, but it might be fun to see how far she can get.

1) I think she probably would be able to sense something was up with him- although considering her canon, she probably wouldn't have much to compare it to- especially since she doesn't know about the nine bright shiners. He'd just register as 'not human, really powerful, doesn't seem to be Free Magic'

3) Yeah- Sabriel may be one of the most powerful mages in the Kingdom, but she doesn't know that many marks yet. Besides, it seems like in the books, Charter Magic is much better at binding and sealing than destroying/causing harm when it comes to powerful entities.

2) Let me list them in order, along with their known abilities. Sabriel generally only uses them for a good reason.

1: Ranna. Sends listeners into sleep.

2: Mosrael. Called the 'waker' it sends the listener into Life, and the ringer into Death. I don't know how it would work in worlds where Death works differently, but Sabriel's highly unlikely to use it anyway. It may also be able to wake people from magical slumber.

3: Kibeth, the walker. It lets the ringer force the listener to walk where the ringer wills- or make them stop walking. It can also be used to grant freedom of movement.

4: Dyrim, the speaker. It can grant the Dead a voice- or it can render people mute. It's also described as being able to give meaning to forgotten words.

5: Belgaer, the thinker. Can restore independent thought and memory, and the personality the Dead had when they were alive. Or used carelessly, shatter someone's mind.

6: Saraneth, the binder. The favorite bell of the Abhorsens, it shackles the Dead to the ringer's will. It may also work on the living, but Sabriel's not going to use it to that purpose. This control seems to be more physical than mental, at least for characters of human intelligence.

7: Astarael, the weeper. The final bell. Sends all who hear it deep into Death, including the ringer. In general terms, this means everyone in the immediate vicinity dies, including the one who rung it- thus, it's sounded when all hope is lost. This is another bell that almost certainly never be used.

3) Charter magic consists of symbols that are either spoken or drawn on the air or objects. Its effects run from healing to attack/shielding, to binding and sealing, to enchanting objects with different properties. It can't transform one thing into another, but it can create illusions. Also, there are constructs called sendings, which are magical servants made up of thousands and thousands of different marks. It only works in Sabriel's world, because the Charter itself doesn't exist anywhere else.

Also, it's possible to use Belgaer to release someone from a binding- Sabriel uses it for this once at the end of the third book.

1) Revan's carrying a great deal of innate power around with her, though it's not really 'magical' unless you consider the Force magic of a sort. Sabriel is free to sense it, though it'll probably come across as nonspecific metaphysical energy more than a specific 'type' of power... if that makes sense.

1) Anna is an angel. You can read about her abilities on the entry in the character journal, if you'd like. With Anna's/Sabriel's powers restored, I'm sure Sabriel would be able to sense Anna's Grace.

1) You can feel free to have Sabriel sense her runes. Also, there's currently venom in her right forearm from Jormungandr, and that's fundamentally similar to dark magic in her canon. (It will basically kill/eat its way through anything.)

1) Liam is a ghost fully in control of his faculties, even after fifty-five years. Sabriel is free to sense whatever she'd like about him; he tends to stay outside the perceptions of the still-living, but it would not be unfair to say that Sabriel has an advantage over this and could sense him even when he tries to hide.

3) That would depend on how her magic might affect ghosts.
