No, I did not. Although that would also explain why she's so desperate for a cure, and to make the people she sees as responsible suffer.

Yeah! That was kinda dumb of us, huh? Or me, anyway. I don't know why I assumed she didn't have existing family stuck in this same situation. It kind of makes it a billion times more personal for her.

Her brother did something to me, I think? Whatever it was, I guess it'll help give me passage into Yuryeong.

He, uh. He wrapped me up with tendrils made out of some kind of — black fog? From his body. The dude was mostly composed of just that. It kinda felt like it sucked all of the sight and sound and breath outta me.

He said something about his shadows leaving 'a mark on me'.

Hmm. Magic here is mostly from people channeling energy from inside them. Perhaps he put a bit of his into you? So if the defenses around Yuryeong let him pass, you'd be able to as well.

Although he might also be able to track you with it as well.

But... that's just speculation. Check your blood to see if anything's changed.

But that's a good idea, yeah. I'll check it out, just to make sure he didn't just infect me to be spiteful. He seemed like he was really determined to hold onto the potential for a cure, though, so I think I'm safe.

Unless I screw this up.
